The Author’s notes and comments on “Steven’s Story”
Hello everyone,
I hope you have enjoyed this little story of mine and would enjoy hearing your comments. Hope as well that I have achieved, in some small way, my goals in the writing of this tale. It truly was a joy to write, especially since, as normal, I had no idea of what was going to happen, not middle or end, or where even the next line would lead to. It was all Steven and David, and I am glad for the opportunity to share a bit of their lives with them for a awhile.
Have to tell you, it surprised the hell out of me that David had been ‘street’...not to mention a Pagan. Kid really threw me for a loop there. LOL!
My first venture into the world of romance? Well, I can’t say that exactly, not after all that occurs in my Drex Tavosn novels, still, it was interesting to write something like that just for its own sake.
Interesting note though, this was the first time I used actual, true life events in one of my stories, and I want to thank Emile for his relating of some things, jazz musicians that he has known in his time. The tale of the scruffy, van-living keyboardist really did happen exactly as I wrote, complete with smoke and soldering iron. Was a white guy in an all black club, and once the literal smoke was cleared, he brought the whole gosh darn house down!
Life and artists, you just have to love it.
I also want to take a moment here to apologize for the ‘rough’ state the writing is in. Time allowances for the most part. More than likely some of you have twigged to the fact the no research whatsoever was put into this, but then again, it is my world which has been created here, possibly a slight skew upon our own, so lump it. :)
As for the future, I can see things progressing. An actual full book and possibly a screenplay. If any are interested, please feel free to contact me.
On a final note, as regards to the end of the story, here I must add one, or more precisely, two more words:
GOT YA!
Well, that is all for now.
Cheers, laughter and blessings,
Melissa J. Vivigatz
